Yoga Retreat or Yoga Holidays in Spain?

On a yoga retreat the week is focused around your yoga, and can be pretty intense. For people practicing their yoga daily or training to be teachers this can be a great way of developing their practice. However, for people who practice yoga to help them through their busy weeks and lives, this may be too much for them when they also need a holiday.

Our aim is to give people who practice yoga once or twice a week, or who wish to discover yoga for the first time, confidence in their practice, and be helped to move forward with their yoga as well as giving them a great holiday. Our teachers are very professional and have the experience to bring groups together and help people at all levels. Additional support is always on hand from Malcolm De Ste Croix and the team who run Spain yoga, complementary health therapies are available giving thought to your emotional and physical well being.

Our yoga venue

Our venue will be the Hotel Taray at the edge of the town of Orgive, with beautiful views to the Sierra Lujar Mountains and 5 minutes from the small town of Orgiva, Andalucia, Southern Spain. Our yoga and tai chi holidays are ideal for people wishing to unwind and relax.

The healing Mediterranean sunshine helps you leave your cares behind. Our holiday weeks combine 10 – 11 sessions of yoga or tai chi in the week together with walking and sightseeing in the stunning mountain scenery of the Alpujarra. The week also gives you a chance to enjoy Spanish culture and there is always plenty of time to relax by the pool.

For people not wanting to take part in everything we do in the week, and who just want to relax, all the activities are optional and you are welcome to take what you want from what is on offer.
Our weeks are holidays, not yoga retreats, though we feel you get the best of both when you holiday with us.

Example of proposed daily program:

8am  – 9.30am Yoga Practice
9.45am Breakfast and free time.
After a coffee/tea break we leave for our walk and picnic lunch; returning around 3-3.30pm to enjoy time by the swimming pool.
6.00 – 7.00pm Yoga and relaxation
8.30pm Supper

Times may vary slightly according to the weather. All times are approximate.
